The MP for West Kingston, Desmond McKenzie, is condemning the Government for what he says is a vulgar and despicable display of politicking.
Mr. McKenzie is taking the PNP-administration to task for its failure to include the parliamentary Opposition in in events celebrating Jamaica’s relationship with Venezuela.
Venezuela’s President Nicholas Maduro visited the island last Saturday for a two day visit.
He participated in several events to mark the 10th anniversary of the PetroCaribe summit and to celebrate the strong bilateral relations between his country and Jamaica.
Mr. McKenzie says he was excluded from a civic ceremony, held in his constituency, to mark the opening of the Simon Bolivar Centre.
Mr. McKenzie says the government behaved as if the Maduro visit was a PNP event.
