Soldiers in Keith Clarke’s Killing to Face Murder Trial

The three soldiers who are charged with the killing of accountant Keith Clarke, on May 27, 2010 at his home in Kirkland Heights, St. Andrew, will now face a murder trial in February next year.

The three accused are Lance Corporals, Greg Tingling and Odel Buckley, along with Private Arnold Henry.

Their trial was set to start today in the Home Circuit Court in Kingston.

But when the matter was mentioned this morning, it was revealed that the soldiers will have to return on February 8, next year for the start of the matter.

The attorneys for the soldiers have argued that their defence could be compromised if the trial were to proceed before the end of the ongoing West Kingston Commission of Enquiry.

The enquiry, which is set to resume on October 20, is scheduled to end by late December.

The three soldiers are accused of killing Mr. Clarke inside his home, during the May 2010 hunt for Christopher ‘Dudus’ Coke.

A post mortem report revealed that Clarke was shot 20 times in the back.
