St. Ann Police Investigate Circumstances Surrounding Death of Pregnant Woman At Doctor’s Office


The St. Ann Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a pregnant woman at a doctor’s office in the parish.

Reports are the 33-year-old cosmetologist from Lewis District in St Ann visited the doctor’s office at a popular plaza at noon Monday.

She was reportedly suffering from pain and cramps.

DSP Garrick says the Police are awaiting the post mortem report.

DSP Garrick says she cannot corroborate claims made in a voice note, which has been making the rounds on social media, that a minor died while trying to get an abortion at a medical facility in the parish.

Nationwide understands that the doctor has told investigators that while he was treating the woman for what he suspected was a spontaneous abortion, she became unresponsive.

A huge crowd gathered outside the doctor’s office in the resort town Monday afternoon after news spread that something had gone awry during an abortion.

A few of those people were able to gain access to the office and saw a dead woman.
