The Portmore, St Catherine woman who’s alleging that her vehicle was scrapped while in the custody of the Bridgeport Police in Portmore St. Catherine, says she has been advised to retain a lawyer to launch a civil suit.
The woman, Diane Walker, told our news centre this afternoon she was making a formal complaint to INDECOM who has advised her to get a legal representative.
She says when she first spoke to Indecom investigators last week they’d urged her to make a report at the Bridgeport police station.
She says she was also advised if the police there refused her statement, which they did, she should file a report to the Superintendent in charge at the Portmore Police headquarters.
Ms Walker, who’s still recovering from the shock that her vehicle was scrapped at a police station, says she was made to understand that her vehicle being scrapped at the station was nothing new.
