The Jamaican economy has registered consecutive quarters of economic growth of two percent for the first time in recent memory.
A few weeks ago, the Statistical Institute of Jamaica (STATIN) reported that the economy grew by 2-percent for the fourth quarter of the just concluded fiscal year.
STATIN also reported that the economy grew by 1.8 percent during the third quarter. But Prime Minister Andrew Holness revealed today that the institute has upgraded the growth figure for the third quarter.
Prime Minister Holness says he’s confident there’ll be a continuation of the upward growth trajectory.
Mr. Holness was addressing a ceremony today at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel in New Kingston.
