Supreme Court Rejects TVJ Injunction Against CVM

The Supreme Court today refused an application by Television Jamaica, TVJ seeking an injunction to bar CVM’s use of footage from the world championships in Beijing

In its application for the injunction, TVJ said they were the exclusive rights holder to free-to-air, satellite, cable, Internet transmission, and public viewing of the IAAF World Championships in Jamaica, since July 8, 2013.

TVJ broke news earlier this week that it had taken CVM to Court for infringing its rights.

Attorney for CVM, Charles Piper says Justice David Batts today refused TVJ’s application.

Efforts to contact TVJ’s lawyer Georgia Gibson Henlin were unsuccessful.

Mr. Piper says lawyers for TVJ say they’ll be appealing today’s decision.
