Tax Administration Jamaica, is reminding small and micro businesses owners that it will be implementing the next phase of its mandatory e-filing of returns at the start of the 2018/2019 financial year.
This means as of April 1, next year small and micro businesses registered as GCT taxpayers will be required to e-File their GCT Returns at www.jamaicatax.gov.jm.
In a statement yesterday the TAJ says this new procedural change means businesses whose total annual supplies or turnover is $150-million and below, must file their monthly GCT returns online.
The TAJ says recent statistics indicate that approximately 59-percent of this group are already filing their GCT returns online.
It says a further analysis of the data, shows that 64-percent of all GCT Returns received by TAJ between January and October 2017, have been filed electronically.
The TAJ says while this group of taxpayers will be mandated to e-file their GCT returns next April, they are encouraged to use the online tax portal to file their GCT Returns for the month of November which is due and must be filed this Friday.
