The Jamaica Customs Agency, JCA, says tax revenues are almost $2-billion ahead of target so far this fiscal year.
In a statement yesterday, the JCA, says at the end of the second quarter of this fiscal year, which runs from April to September, customs revenue stood at one hundred and $11-billion.
The Agency says that collection so far this fiscal year is more than $1.8-billion above their target.
The JCA says collection up to the second quarter this fiscal year has outperformed collections over the same period last year by 10-percent.
The JCA is the second largest revenue collector for the government, contributing approximately 38-percent of the Government’s tax revenue.
It says last fiscal year, it surpassed its targets by collecting almost $208-billion.
