Taxi Group Withdraws Call for 50% Fare Increase

The Transport Operators for Development Sustainable Services, TODSS, is withdrawing its call for a 50-percent fare increase for public passenger operators.

TODSS President, Edgeton Newman, says after serious revision of the issues affecting the transport sector, the organization realizes there are more important issues that need addressing.

Mr. Newman says the decision was made in part as a result of discussions with Transport Minister, Mike Henry.

He says they’ll be meeting next week to discuss other issues affecting the industry.
