Taxi Operator Among 2 Killed In St. Catherine Crash

A taxi operator is one of two people dead following a fatal crash in St. Catherine this morning.

Reports from the police are the two people died on the Dyke Road in the parish.

Up to news time the police have yet to identify the deceased.

Statistics from the Road Safety Unit of the Transport Ministry shows St. Catherine leads the nation in road deaths this year.

According to Unit, since the start of the year, 40 people have been killed on the roads in the parish.

That accounts for 15-percent of road users killed.

The Unit says two hundred and sixty-five people have been killed across the country since the start of the year.
