Teen Commits Suicide After Being Scolded about Grades

A teenager is believed to have committed suicide last night, by shooting himself in the head after being scolded about his academic performance.

Fourteen year old JQuan Forbes was the son of Police Constable Bernard Forbes from the Denham Town police.

The incident happened at their home on Cheetwood Avenue, Kingston 11 last night.

Reports are Constable Forbes had scolded his son after receiving an email from his school about the teen’s academic performance.

He then told JQuan to finish his homework. Its understood that the father fell asleep and was awakened by an explosion in the house.

When he made checks, he saw his son lying a pool of blood on the floor in his room. Constable Forbes’ service firearm was on the floor. A suicide note was also reportedly found at the scene.

Head of the St. Andrew South Police, Superintendent Arthur Brown, says the Independent Commission of Investigations INDECOM is investigating.
