The Rains Are Here: Several Parishes To Experience Wet Weekend, Drought Relief


The Meteorological Service is reporting that on the weekend heading into Monday most parishes in Jamaica are set to get some relief from chronic drought conditions.

According to the Met Service, a persistent Trough across Jamaica and the central Caribbean is to bring showers, which may be heavy at times, over the period.

Projections are for periods of showers and thunderstorms to affect sections of most parishes especially during the afternoons.

Fishers and other marine operators are urged to exercise caution as sea conditions will deteriorate in the vicinity of the showers and thunderstorms.
