The Wait is Over; PM Expected to Call Election Sunday


Prime Minister and PNP President, Portia Simpson-Miller, says she’ll not wait any longer to call the General Election.

Mrs. Simpson Miller says some people are worried because they know she’ll announce the election date in Half Way Tree square on Sunday night.

The Prime Minister was speaking last evening in the battleground seat of East Rural St. Andrew.

The Prime Minister was the guest of the PNP’s caretaker, Imani Duncan Price, at a meeting in Gordon Town square.

She gave the clearest indication yet that she will announce the election date on Sunday.

Mrs. Simpson Miller told the comrades that Half Way Tree is the only place to be on Sunday night.

The Prime Minister said she knows that Juliet Holness, the wife of the Opposition Leader, is reconsidering her move to challenge Senator Duncan Price.

Mrs. Simpson-Miller gave Duncan Price a strong endorsement, in a seat that has traditionally gone to the winning party on election night.
