Tommy Lee to Be Questioned by Police Today

Dancehall artiste Tommy Lee Sparta is to be questioned today by police investigators.

Head of the Constabulary’s Corporate Communications Unit, CCU Superintendent Dhalia Garrick says Lee was taken into custody on Saturday night.

It’s understood that the entertainer was detained by Police personnel shortly after he left the Magnum Kings and Queens of Dacehall show which took place at the Melbourne Cricket Club .

He was detained by the police moments after he used an automated teller machine at Manor Park in St Andrew.

He remains in custody this morning at the Halfway Tree Lockup.

Superintendent Garrick says Lee was detained for questioning in connection with crimes committed in Montego Bay St. James.

Over the past few years, the Police have alleged that Tommy Lee is the leader of a faction of the Flanker based, Sparta Gang.

However, Lee and his attorneys have denied the allegations.

It’s understood that Tommy Lee has retained attorney Earnest Smith, in connection with the issue which resulted in his arrest on the weekend.

He’s to be interrogated by detectives from the Counter Terrorism and Organised Investigation Branch, C-TOC, and the Criminal Investigation Branch, CIB.

Tommy Lee is well known for songs in the dancehall such as Uncle Demon, Psycho and Captain Sparta.

His given name is Leroy Russell.
