Two Guns Seized in Two Days


Two guns and more than twenty rounds of ammunition were seized in two separate incidents over the last two days.

A teenager and a woman are among three persons arrested in relation to the seizures.

In the latest incident, police from Bath, St. Thomas searched a premises at about 9:30 yesterday morning where they found a Glock pistol with 12 rounds hidden in a hole.

The gun and ammunition were seized and the teen taken into custody.

About 12 hours earlier, officers assigned to the Clarendon Police Division seized a firearm and eleven rounds of ammunition in Longville Park in the parish.

Two persons, including a female, were arrested and charged in relation to the incident.

They’re 22-year-old Marlon McCarthy, from the parish and 25-year-old Danielle Mathews, from New Jersey, in the United States of America and New Market Oval, Savannah-la-Mar, Westmoreland.

Reports from the Longville Park Police are that about 10 o’clock Monday night police were in the area when they signalled a car to stop.

It was searched and a gun and eleven rounds were found in the woman’s purse.

Both were arrested and charged with Illegal Possession of Firearm and Ammunition.
