Two men were arrested following the seizure of a gun and several rounds of ammunition in separate incidents in Kingston and St. Andrew on New Year’s Eve.
In the latest incident 32-year-old mechanic, Howard Sinclair from Cassava Piece in St. Andrew is charged with illegal possession of firearm and ammunition.
One revolver containing five rounds was seized.
Reports from the Hunts Bay Police are that about 10:00 p.m., a team was on foot patrol in the area when a man was seen acting in a manner that arose their suspicious. He was accosted, searched and the firearm found in the waistband of his trousers.
Earlier in the day, a man was arrested after nine shotgun rounds were found during the search of two premises in West Kingston.
The identity of the man is being withheld pending investigations.
