Teens Among 3 In Custody After Thwarted Abduction Attempt in St. Catherine


Police detained three males including two teens implicated in an attempted abduction in Portmore, St Catherine yesterday.

This after a woman was reportedly held up and robbed by men in a black Honda Stream which was reportedly operating as a taxi.

On reaching a section of the community, the female reportedly jumped from the moving vehicle.

She then filed a police report.

The incident happened at about 2:20 Monday afternoon.

Deputy Superintendent of Police, DSP Dahlia Garrick, Officer attached to the Constabulary’s Corporate Communications Unit, CCU, says the men were later detained in Kingston.

She says technology played a key role in apprehending the suspects.

DSP Garrick says the St Andrew Central police are appealing to members of the public who may have been victims of similar crimes to contact them.
