UPDATE: Peter Abrahams Murder Probe

The trial of the man accused of murdering prominent journalist and author, Peter Abrahams, is to begin May 7 this year.

Sixty-one-year-old Norman Tomlinson has been ordered to appear in the Home Circuit Court in Kingston on that date where he’ll be told to enter a plea.

Tomlinson appeared in the St. Andrew Parish Court yesterday where the case was transferred to the Home Circuit Court.

Peter Abrahams was found dead at his home in Red Hills, St. Andrew, in February last year. He was 97.

Tomlinson is accused of beating Abrahams to death after both men had an altercation.

An autopsy suggested that Mr. Abrahams died from the injuries he sustained during the incident. Tomlinson was arrested and charged a few weeks after the murder.
