US Fugitive Nabbed in Jamaica


Jamaica’s Police have nabbed a United States fugitive who has been wanted in that country for over 16-years.

He’s 48-year-old Davy Scott.

Scott who is a sound system owner and operator was arrested by the Fugitive Apprehension Team at his home on Hellshire drive in Independence City, Portmore, St. Catherine. He’s wanted by the New Jersey Justice Department in the US.

Scott was arrested on a warrant for a number of offences that were committed in November 2001 in New Jersey.

The offences are Possession of a controlled dangerous substance, Making a false statement to USA Law Enforcement Officers and Attempting to cause and/or purposely, knowingly or recklessly causing bodily injury to a Police Officer.

When he appeared in the Kingston and St. Andrew parish court in Half Way Tree yesterday, he was remanded in custody. He’s scheduled to reappear in court next week Thursday, February 1.
