Vauxhall school board to meet Tuesday to determine if it will take action against teachers who trimmed student’s hair.

The Chairman of Vauxhall High School, attorney Christopher Honeywell, says the school’s board will meet to discuss if any disciplinary action will be taken against three teachers who held down a male student and cut his hair.

The board is to meet tomorrow.

Mr. Honeywell told our news centre that the matter has been turned over to the Personnel Committee of the board.

The teachers, Carl Samuels, Jerome Grossett and Fabian Brown, have been criminally charged with assault occasioning bodily harm and unlawful wounding.

They’re to appear in court on Thursday.

Education Minister, Ruel Reid, says what happened at the school is a clear breach of policy.

However, the Education Minister says he’s not condoning indiscipline among students.

Rather, he’s stressing that school administrators should follow established procedures when enforcing discipline.
