The main courthouses across the island will be equipped with video and audio visual recording technology within a year.
That’s the assurance this afternoon from Justice Minister Delroy Chuck.
The Minister’s disclosure comes amidst growing calls for additional use of technology at police stations to record witness statements and for the general use of the court.
But Deputy Commissioner of Police Glenmore Hinds says the technology to record statements already exists.
The Justice Minister says the legislation to facilitate the use of such technologies is also available.
Both men were speaking on Nationwide This Morning, earlier today.
