Water Theives Cripple Community Clinics

The Western Regional Health Authority, WRHA, is this afternoon pleading with residents to stop stealing water from the grounds of public health facilities in the area.

The WRHA is in charge of all health facilities in Trelawny, St. James, Hanover and Westmoreland.

The Chairman of the WRHA, Calvin Brown, says since the onset of the drought, most clinics have had to close their doors as residents have stolen the water stored on the properties.

Mr. Brown says as a result of the water theft, hospitals in the region are being placed under tremendous stress.
