The returning General Manager of the scandal-hit Petrojam, says he’ll be focusing on rebuilding confidence in the state-owned oil refinery.
Winston Watson, who had served 13 years as General Manager of Petrojam, returns to the post this morning after being seconded to Petrojam’s parent company, the Petroleum Corporation of Jamaica, PCJ, where he served as Group General Manager.
Prime Minister Andrew Holness has admitted that there’s corruption at the oil refinery.
Petrojam falls under the purview of the Energy portfolio which is now under the remit of Prime Minister Holness.
Earlier this month the Prime Minister stripped the embattled Dr Andrew Wheatley of the Energy portfolio. But, he remains a member of the Cabinet as Science and Technology Minister.
Nationwide News asked Mr. Watson, if a culture change had occurred at Petrojam since he left.
Mr Watson replaces former General Manager, Floyd Grindley, under whose watch a scandal broke out at the company.
