Nationwide News understands that the Governing Council of the University of Technology, is yet to find a suitable candidate to fill the post of President of the institution.
The matter is pertinent, given that Acting President, Ambassador Burchell Whiteman, is set to demit office at the end of the month.
Ambassador Whiteman was appointed on June 1 last year, to replace Professor Errol Morrison.
When contacted by our newscenter, Ambassador Whiteman confirmed that he has no intention of serving beyond July 31.
Sources at UTech say the situation is another example of poor leadership being exhibited by the UTech Council.
They say its unacceptable that no candidate has yet been contacted about the job, despite it being public knowledge that Ambassador Whiteman was only in the post as a temporary measure.
