Williams Provisionally Selected To Jamaica World Champs Team

Briana Williams has been provisionally listed on Jamaica’s 55 member team to the World Championships in Doha, Qatar, from September 27 to October 6.

Williams is listed to contest the flat 100-metres and the 4-by-100- metres relays at the Championships.

The 17 year-old finished third in the 100-metres at the National Senior trial in June.

However, she returned a positive test for the banned diuretic Hydro- chloro-thiazide from the same meet.

Williams will face the Jamaica Independent Anti-Doping Disciplinary panel from September 23-25.

President of the J-3As, Dr. Warren Blake, says to not select her on the team would be equal to pronouncing her guilty before the hearing.
