Former Public Defender, Queen’s Counsel Earl Witter has refuted a report carried in today’s edition of the Jamaica Observer newspaper, concerning his testimony during yesterday’s sitting of the West Kingston Commission of Enquiry.
It was reported that Mr. Witter testified that 44 of the 76 persons killed in the May 2010 operation to capture Dudus, died as a result of extra judicial killings.
According to the report, Mr. Witter said he had no information about the circumstance under which the other civilians were killed.
But during his testimony this morning, Mr. Witter refuted the report.
The Chairman of the Commission, Sir David Simmons supported Mr. Witter’s position.
