Women & Children Caught in St James SOE Linked to Major Crimes?

Senior Superintendent of Police SSP, Anthony Morris in charge of the St James State of Public Emergency says policing the parish remains a challenge despite the enhanced security measures.

He says the hundreds of people who died last year in the parish died at the hands of criminals, some of whom are still at large.

In the meantime he says many of the children who have been detained have been integral in gangs and criminal activities.

SSP Morris also sought to explain the need for detaining 21 females under the State of Emergency.

SSP Morris says they were picked up and processed within 24 hours before taken to Cambridge where the females are kept.

The Officer says at least one of the females was identified as a gangster.
