Worker at Kingston Container Terminal Charged in Connection with Recent Gun Find

A worker at Kingston Container Terminal has been charged in connection with the recent importation of 21 illegal guns and 700 bullets into Jamaica.

Charged is 28 year old, Jevaughnie McKay. McKay is from Old Braeton, Portmore in St. Catherine. He’s been charged with the illegal importation of firearms and ammunition. He was charged by Detectives at the Counter-Terrorism and Organized Crime Investigation Branch, C-TOC. The arms find was made last month.

McKay was charged after he was interrogated yesterday by the Police in the presence of his lawyer. He’s to appear in court on Friday.

Investigations continue as the Police are seeking the alleged sender of the weapons to Jamaica.

A sniper rifle was among the 21 guns seized.

The guns and ammunition were sent from the United States
