World Bank Supporting Entrepreneurs with Crowd Funding

The World Bank Group is moving to help Caribbean entrepreneurs increase their network base and have more access to capital via their first online course in crowd-funding initiative.

The eight week programme is expected to begin on September 5.

The programme is being funded by the government of Canada under the Entrepreneurship Program for Innovation in the Caribbean.

Operations Officer at the World Bank Group, Karlene Francis,says the programme has been specially designed for business men and women from 14 CARICOM countries.

Miss Francis says at the end of the programme, the participants will be equipped with all the resources necessary to launch successful regional and international crowd-funding campaigns

Ms. Francis says the World Bank Group has also created the initiative as there has been a need for a stronger entrepreneur-investor relationship in the region.
