Fourteen more COVID-19 fatalities were recorded on the island.

That’s according to the Health and Wellness Ministry’s latest update.

This brings the number of deaths from the virus to 1,936.

The deaths occurred over a 28-day period between September 5 and October 3.

The majority of the deceased are from Kingston and St. Andrew.

Meanwhile, 249 confirmed cases were recorded.

This brings the total number of positive cases in the island to 85,163.

944 samples were tested.

This represents a positivity rate of 26 percent.

The number of active cases stands at 29,109.

There were 134 recoveries.

This brings the number of recoveries to 52,538.

The number of hospitalizations are now at 551.

115 persons are moderately ill, 67 are severely ill and 34 are critical.
