Investigators assigned to the St. Catherine South Police Division are still probing the circumstances surrounding a motor vehicle collision that claimed the lives of two men on the Mandela Highway yesterday afternoon.

Dead are 37-year-old Kevin Muir, a taxi operator of Airy Castle Road in Stony Hill, St. Andrew and Mark Whitter.

The Police say Whitter’s background is ye to be ascertained.

Reports from the Central Village Police are that about 4:10 in the afternoon, Muir was driving a Nissan AD Wagon motor car towards Kingston with three men aboard. 

On reaching a section of the roadway, he allegedly lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the rear of a Mazda Premacy motor car that was travelling towards Spanish Town. 

The Police were alerted during which Muir, Whitter and two other men were taken to the hospital. 

Muir and Whitter died while being treated. The other two men were admitted for treatment.

The Police say the driver of the Mazda Premacy escaped unhurt.
