In the meantime, President of the National Council of Taxi Associations, NCOTA, Dion Chance, says his members will also be seeking an increase in fares.

And General Secretary of the Jamaica Association of Local Government Officers, JALGO, Helene Davis-Whyte, says she’s waiting to see the size of the increase.
Mrs Davis-Whyte says depending on what’s announced, there could be grounds for civil servants to seek a re-negotiation of their current wage restraint.
The JALGO head says a JUTC transportation subsidy for public sector workers has been proposed.
