The country has recorded six more COVID-19 fatalities to date.
That’s according to the Health and Wellness Ministry’s latest update.
The majority of the deceased are from St. Catherine.
The number of COVID-19 deaths now stands at 2,123.
The deaths occurred over a 2-day period between October 15 and 17.
Meanwhile, 81 confirmed cases were recorded.
The total number of positive cases in the island now stands at 87, 667.
380 samples were tested.
This represents a positivity rate of 20.3 percent.
The number of active cases stands at 29,120.
There were 190 recoveries.
This brings the total number of recoveries to 55,827.
The number of hospitalizations still remains at 361.
64 are moderately ill, 44 are severely ill and 20 are critical.
