Eighty people affected by the freak flooding in St James last month have received financial assistance.
Labour minister, Shahine Robinson, handed over cheques of undisclosed amounts to the individuals this afternoon.
In November, a heavy downpour of rain had resulted in the North Gully in Montego Bay overflowing and flooding sections of the town.
This resulted in hundreds of thousands of dollars in losses to properties, to include vehicles which were left submerged and overturned.
Minister Robinson says the approximately 70 remaining persons will be assisted at a later date.
Meanwhile, one of the beneficiaries Valencia Commock, told Nationwide News that she is unemployed and is thankful for the assistance rendered.
