Stakeholders in the Health System are commending the government for seeking other sources for COVID-19 Vaccines beyond the COVAX facility.
President of the Medical Association of Jamaica, MAJ, Dr. Andrew Manning, says the move is a sound one considering the limited number of doses the COVAX facility is expected to provide.
He’s responding to Health Minister, Dr. Christopher Tufton informing the House of Representatives that the government will explore its bilateral relations with countries like India and Cuba, to source COVID 19 vaccines.
President of the Nurses Association of Jamaica, Patsy Edwards Henry, also supports the move.
However, she says the government must ensure these vaccines are effective.
