Tensions are high in sections of North West St Andrew after gunmen killed one man and injured another in the vicinity of Ackee Walk this morning.

Sources say the deceased has been identified as 47 year old, Christopher Brown.

It’s understood Brown and another man were sitting at the side of Greenvale Road in the area when they were shot by unknown assailants.

Brown died on the spot.

The other man reportedly escaped in a nearby gully and is being treated at hospital.

It’s also understood the police and the Member of Parliament, Dr Nigel Clarke visited the area following the incident.

Meanwhile, the incident follows another fatal shooting in nearby Chancery Street, yesterday.

The drive by shooting left one person dead and two others nursing gun shot wounds.

Dead is 19-year-old Donelie Johnson.

Reports from the St. Andrew North Police are shortly after 1 yesterday afternoon, Johnson was at a stall close from Price Rite Supermarket when a car with four men aboard drove up.

The men opened fire on Johnson hitting him.

Two others were shot and injured during the incident.

Johnson was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The other two are being treated.

It’s not clear if this morning’s attack is linked to yesterday’s incident.
