Acting Commissioner of Police, Glenmore Hinds, has called on police personnel to take steps to sensitize members of the public, through widely publicized meetings, on the need to conserve water.

ACP Hinds says because of the prolonged drought, the public must be reminded of the implications of violating the restriction orders put out by the Ministry of Water.

He’s ordered the police not to use a hose to wash police vehicles, the cells and lock-ups.

But to use buckets instead for conservation.

He’s also banned the watering of lawns and has instructed that the washing of private motor vehicles must not be facilitated.
