The Coalition for a Healthy Society says it will organize to defeat any Member of Parliament who votes to legalise the practice of abortion in Jamaica.
The group’s chairman, Dr. Wayne West, says citizens must make it clear that Jamaica does not stand for what he describes as “barbarism and savagery”.
Dr. West has dismissed the calls for a Parliamentary vote on the matter, after State Minister of Health and Wellness, Juliet Cuthbert Flynn, revived her call for abortion to be legalised locally.
The coalition’s chairman says no politician has the right to make such a decision for the country.

Dr. West says there is nothing progressive about the practice of abortion. He likened the practice to murder.
