The Advocates Network is demanding answers from the Ministry of Labour and Social Security regarding the working conditions of Jamaican farm workers under the Canadian Seasonal Agricultural Workers Programme.
This, as the Ministry, deployed a fact-finding team to investigate the conditions of the workers.
Representative of the Advocates Network, Ruki Wilson, says measures must be in place to protect the farm workers who are speaking out against the deplorable conditions.
Ms. Wilson says the time has come for the government to solve the ongoing issue.
She says the farmers have been pleading with the Ministry to help improve their working conditions since last year.
