Defender, Allyson Swaby, was the hero for the national senior women’s football team in last night’s friendly international against Paraguay at the Catherine Hall Stadium.

Swaby, who plays her club football with Angel City FC, scored in the 90th minute to give the Reggae Girlz the win in the first of two friendly internationals.

Head coach of the Reggae Girlz, Lorne Donaldson, says he’s pleased with the win, but believes they should have closed out the game in the first half.

Donaldson had high praises for goal keeper Sydney Schneider.

The Jamaicans are using the games as part of their preparation for the FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, next year.

Meanwhile, this forms part of Paraguay’s preparation for the World Cup play-offs.

If the South Americans are successful in the playoffs, they’ll join the Reggae Girlz, Brazil, and France in Group “F” at the global showpiece.
