Director of racing for Supreme Ventures Racing and Entertainment Limited, Denzil Miller, is anticipating an exciting day of competition at Caymanas Park, on Saturday.

The 10-race program will feature the 96th running of the Jamaica St. Leger a Futurity race for native-bred three-year-olds run over 10 furlongs for a purse of $4.5 million.

Miller says the 1,000 and 2,000 Guineas winners will meet in the second jewel in the triple crown at the park.

Miller says chairman of both the Betting, Gaming and Lotteries Commission, BGLC, and The Jamaica Racing Commission, JRC, Clovis Metclafe will be honoured with a cup race named in his honour on the day.

Metcalfe, who has been an active contributor to the development of horse racing in Jamaica as an owner and breeder of outstanding horses, says he hopes other stakeholders will receive the same recognition in the future.
