The Police High Command is urging Jamaicans to ensure that they ask policeĀ personnel for proper identification if they’re apprehended for whatever reasons.

This, as the High Command says it has taken note of several crimes committed over the last few weeks in the St. Elizabeth division, by what it describes as ‘unscrupulous persons’ purporting to be members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force.

Citizens are being urged to ensure that proper identification is sought, to ensure that such persons are in fact members of the JCF, operating within the law.

The police are also reminding citizens that the officers have a responsibility to identify themselves when conducting their duties.

They’re to be properly identified by their identification cards and badge numbers which appear on uniforms.

Citizens are being advised to contact their local police immediately to report any suspicious activities.
