The attorney representing incarcerated dancehall star, Vybz Kartel, Isat Buchanan, says he’s in the process of asking the court to intervene, amid claims the artiste is being kept in lockdown for 23 hours daily.

Reports have emerged that Vybz Kartel was among three inmates found in possession of mobile phones during a search at the Tower Street Correctional Facility in Kingston.

It’s alleged that Kartel, who suffers from a thyroid problem, has been placed in a restricted cell, pending the outcome of an investigation.

Mr Buchanan says the issue of the alleged prohibited item is a matter for parliament to address.
