The Health Ministry says normalcy has returned to hospitals and health centres across the island, after nurses returned to work today, following a two day sickout.

On Tuesday and Wednesday the majority of the island’s nurses, took industrial action to protest the non payment of monies owed to them from 2013.

That payment stems from a reclassification exercise.

The absence of the nurses caused some services at hospitals to be suspended and caused chaos in accident and emergency units across the island.

The Health Minister, Dr. Fenton Ferguson is thanking the emergency staff who were called in to fill the breach, for their hard work and dedication.

Dr. Ferguson says he empathizes with the nurses.
