A 58-year-old Independent Baptist pastor who’s charged with rape and assault occasioning bodily harm returns to the St Elizabeth Parish Court today.
He is Leabert Webster, of a Santa Cruz address, in the parish.
Allegations are, in October last year, the minister of religion, who’s also an electrician, sexually assaulted a minor at her grandmother’s home.
He allegedly held the girl by the throat and during a tussle, he reportedly kicked her in the abdomen. He then allegedly held a rag over her nose and mouth then pulled her into a room where he forcibly had sexual intercourse with her.
The matter was reported to the police and after investigations, Webster was arrested and charged in December 2017.
Webster has since been released on $1-million bail with surety.
