The Acting Public Defender, Matondo Mukulu, is promising that the office will do a better job in representing residents of Tivoli Gardens, when the West Kingston Commission of Enquiry resumes next year.

The enquiry, which has so far heard evidence from 24 witnesses, the majority of them from Tivoli, took a break earlier this month after two weeks of sittings.

Proceedings are set to resume on February 9.

There’ve been concerns that those Tivoli residents who’ve testified to date, weren’t adequately prepared for the rigours of giving testimony and being cross-examined.

Matondo Mukulu, Acting Public Defender.

The Public Defender’s Office is represented by attorney, Miguel Lorne.

Mr. Lorne is to be supported by the Lawyers Christian Fellowship when the proceedings resume.
