The National Water Commission says customers across the island should brace for disruptions in their water supply.
This in light of industrial action taken by several categories of workers, including its cashiers and customer service representatives.
As a result the NWC says there’s an increased risk of unplanned service interruptions.
It’s urging the public to store water for use, in the event that the workers continue their industrial action for an extended period.
The workers took industrial action this morning, in protest at a decision by the NWC management to change their health insurance providers without consulting them or their unions.
The Jamaica Association of Local Government Officers, JALGO, is one of the four unions representing the workers.
The General Secretary of JALGO is Helene Davis Whtye.
