National Security Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, Dr Horace Chang, says the government will not take any action on the Supreme Court ruling relating to SOEs, until they’re in receipt of the final judgement.

Supreme Court Judge, Justice Bertram Morrison had ruled that among other things, prolonged detentions under States of Public Emergency are unconstitutional.

Dr Chang says though it’s the purview of the Attorney General, if so advised the government may seek review at another court on the matter.

Dr Chang says he’s also seeking to fast track several key legislation, among them the Firearms Act.

He says he’s also planning to lay foundation for the JCF Act.
