Health Minister, Dr. Fenton Ferguson, has conceded that Jamaica is faced with an increase in the spread of the Chickungunya virus.
Addressing the House of Representatives this afternoon, Dr. Ferguson disclosed that half the island’s fourteen parishes have seen confirmed cases of Chik-V.
He says there’re now 31-confirmed cases of the mosquito-transmitted virus in Jamaica.
Dr. Ferguson also updated Parliament on his visit to St. Thomas today where there’ve been complaints of an outbreak of Chik-V.
