Acting Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Marion Bullock Ducasse, says the latest data available to the Health Ministry shows that there are 64 confirmed cases of the Chikungunya Virus in the island.

For weeks, there have been disputes over the discrepancy between the number of confirmed cases as against what has been reported in communities across the island. Given the many who have avoided visiting a medical facility or following the process through to official confirmation, it’s unlikely officials will ever know the true figure.

Dr Bullock Ducasse admits the figure is under constant revision as new reports are officially confirmed.
